Comunicado conjunto del Gobierno Nacional y las FARC

The Colombian Government and the FARC have just issued their first joint communique from the second phase of peace talks currently under way in Oslo.  Here is the original Spanish version:  Comunicado conjunto del Gobierno Nacional y las FARC.

The statement establishes that the peace table in Oslo has been officially installed and that the second phase of peace talks has begun.  The parties affirm their intent to develop a framework agreement for the end of the conflict and the construction of a stable and lasting peace.  They reiterate that the first item on the agreed-upon agenda will be comprehensive agrarian development, which will be addressed beginning on November 15 in Havana.   The parties agree to designate spokespersons who will meet on November 5 in Havana to continue preparatory activities for the continuation of the talks.
